4 June 2025

Yoanna PuahThroughout her degree, Yoanna Puah worked as a pharmacy assistant, a job she is grateful for as it will give her a unique understanding of medications as she moves into her career. A passionate student, her advice to future nursing students is: “You can do it! If nursing calls out to you, we need you in this field. Persevere and you will make it!”

Here she shares some memories about her time in the program.

What are you most proud of from your time in the program?

Making it through the whole four years successfully! I have also grown as a person by learning from each patient encounter, everyone has a different story to share, and I am delighted to be a part of their journey.

How did you stay motivated during your studies?

Reminding myself that I have made it this far, I can do it! All the encouraging feedback from instructors and peers helps a whole lot too.

What was your go-to spot on campus?

In the Edmonton Clinic Health Academy, I felt focused, motivated and connected to my higher self. It became my sanctuary for deep work and reflection. Occasionally, I also enjoyed spending time at Remedy Café, where I could relax, catch up with friends and stay connected with the community.
